Omaha Beach

Omaha commonly known as Omaha Beach was the code name for one of the five sectors of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944, during World War II.  Here are some of the photos I took when I was there.  There are also amazing restaurants around the area which serves mussels and fresh oysters.  If your in Normandy and would like to go to the beach, Omaha beach is the place to be.

Lunch Date

How's your Saturday guys? Snow is pouring again in the south part of the Netherlands and a temperature of minus two so it is really cold in here.  But nothing could stop us in dining out with friends. We had a sumptuous lunch in a Chinese-Mongolian Restaurant in the border of Germany to celebrate a friend's birthday.  Thanks for inviting us again!

Chinese Beliefs

frm starter, banana rolls, duck meat, german beer & my plate
Before Chinese New Year ends on Sunday ( i believe so), I and hubby went to our favorite Chinese Restaurant located in the border of Netherlands and Germany to dine in.  The last time we were there was with family last Christmas. The restaurant looks new because  of some  renovations they made to the place. Honestly, I want to eat duck meat because according to a Fung Shui expert that guested in Kris TV, the meat of the duck is good for fertility (meaning those who are trying and planning).  I do not really believe this but there is no harm in trying, right? The crispiness of the skin is what i love the most!  It is so damn good.

The German Doughnut

Thanked God it's Saturday!  It simply means a day of chilling out and relaxing at home. We only need to get some food shopping for the coming week especially the sandwiches of hubby to take to work  So, right after having breakfast, we prepared ourselves then immediately drove  to Germany.  We hopped from one store to another until this Berliner Ballen (called in german) caught our attention on our way out.  This really looks different from the famous Dunkin Donuts with a hole in a middle. This donuts are so good! Filled with marmalade or jam like apricots, strawberry and raspberry.  Price is at 2,95eu for 5 pcs.

Christmas Shopping

Christmas is over but the shops are still giving away lots i mean lots of discounted prices! Yes, i am talking about shopping. Two days ago, i went shopping with my brother in Germany.  We went particularly in Oberhausen which is an hour away from us.  I never did expect the place to be amazing.  It looked like Ayala Center in Cebu. We bought few things from Zara, Mango, Esprit & Hollister.  You can also find a large selection of foods in their food court area such as KFC, Subway, Haiky, Vietnam Cooking, La Concha and a lot more.  We had lunch at Taco & More.  Centro Oberhausen offers a free parking space so it is an excellent place to shop.  Planning to go back again next year February. Below are some photos!

German Fast Food Dish

Earlier i had this very delicious and tasty fast food dish from Germany. Most of the people here in the Netherlands loved Currywurst. Believe me, you will love it too. It's best served with mustard, curry or catsup whichever you prefer. An affordable price of 2eu.
